THE OPPORTUNITY:
Registered Nurse-Cardiac Ward

This hospital is a large acute facility providing a range of complex services for patients, specialising in oncology, cardiology and neurosciences for adults and children. They have an available opportunity for a Registered Nurse to work on the cardiac ward of the hospital with excellent experience, skills and knowledge. THE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The overall responsibility within the hospital's cardiac ward. As a cardiac nurse you will administer stress tests and EKGs to patients suspected of having heart murmurs, blockages and other cardiovascular complications. You will also monitor patients' vital signs, prepare them for open-heart surgery, and administer medications.
YOUR CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working as part of the cardiac team on the ward you will be responsible for ensuring the right standard of care is provided to all patients at all time. You will be involved in the training of junior members of staff. Your day to day will involve assessing, planning and implementing care to patients on the wards, administration of IV drugs, ECG interpretation, chest drain management, epidural and femoral sheath removal. As part of the team you will be expected to develop and maintain clinical skills and knowledge and keep up to date with current practices. You may also be assigned other ad hoc duties as required by senior members of staff
YOUR EDUCATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Nursing Degree
NMC Registration
THE REQUIREMENTS:
To be eligible for the role, you will need to:
• Have at least 6 months post-graduation experience and a valid NMC registration
• Have experience of working in a cardiology/cardiothoracic
• Have the ability to recognise cardiac rhythms
• Be a caring and compassionate nurse with strong attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure.
• Have excellent communication skills and be a good team player.
