RESPONSIBILITIES:

To lead on clinical practice while implementing education and training to clinical teams. Ensure the standards and delivery of health care services that are designed to promote increased effectiveness in patient- centred care.

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directed by the Deputy Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Nurse you will provide a visible clinical profile whilst having an advisory and clinical input into the development of staff. Working as a Practice Development Nurse your role will be to develop and improve clinical protocols with other MDT members ensuring interventions undertaken are in line with guidelines and facilitate Nursing skills and practice in line with national policy. Your day to day will involve the implementation of the education, training and development strategy across nursing and where appropriate wider clinical services. You will set and monitor standards, promoting best practice in the specialist area. Your role will also involve contributing to the clinical governance process, by identifying and acting appropriately regarding incidents of poor practice through clinical incident reporting, audit and research.

THE REQUIREMENTS:

To be eligible for the role, you will need to have:

• Post graduate qualification in education is desirable however strong candidates with relevant experience in CPD will be considered.
• Strong knowledge within medical and surgical nursing
• Experience of managing and leading a team of nurses and be able to lead by example.
• Have a positive and dynamic approach & be able to adapt easily to situations and be a good communicator within a team.
• Maintain a balanced budget and be able to identify changes in the service to increase efficiency.
• Have excellent attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure along with good communication and computer skills.
