TTM Healthcare have partnered with a leading Mental Health provider who have opening a new service based in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire to recruit a Deputy Ward Manager to join their expanding team.
Set within a safe and therapeutic environment, the Hospital is a 32 bedded locked service split into two units each 16 beds per unit, supporting two different service user groups:
• Ward 1 - focuses upon the active rehabilitation of men with mental health issues. The emphasis is upon stabilising mental health, reducing risks and enhancing independent living skills, with a view to reintegration into the community.
• Ward 2 - supports men with dementia, and behaviours that challenge.
As a Deputy Ward Manager your role will include:
Primarily focused around the effective delivery of clinical care and working towards improving standards within the clinical areas of the service
Supervises a defined group of team members and contributes to their overall CPD, mandatory training and appraisal process recognising the skills required across the team.
You will also need to lead shifts as well as mentoring and supporting student nurses and other members of the team
Monitor and review Nursing Care plans
Evaluate and respond to changes in patients' condition and needs
Provide a high standard of care to people with mental illness and personality disorder
Ideally, as a Deputy Ward Manager you would need the following experience:
Registered Nurse Qualification (RMN) with a Valid NMC PIN
If you are looking newly qualified looking for preceptorship - the relevant training and support would be provided
o be a team player
To be self-aware, seeking support and advice when required
Good listening and rapport building ability
To be able to organize and prioritise your time
