Sister/Charge Nurse-Surgical Ward

They have an available opportunity for a Sister/Charge Nurse to work on the surgical ward of the hospital with excellent experience, skills and knowledge. REPONSIBILITIES:

The overall responsibility of the Sister/Charge nurse within the hospital's surgical unit caring for patients pre and post-operative along with ensuring safe and effective practice and providing effective leadership and management.

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working as the Sister/Charge Nurse you will be responsible for managing the clinical caseload for the unit while supporting all junior members of staff. You will have clinical ownership of the unit when in charge and you will also involve acting as a support to the Head of department at the hospital, helping to ensure the correct delivery of service. As the Sister/Charge Nurse you will encapsulate the ethos of the hospital supporting patients through their journey. Part of your day to day will involve preparing for clinics, staff allocation, complaints management & stock ordering. Working alongside the Head of Outpatients you will plan, develop and implement new policies and procedures to continuously improve the service. A vital part of your role will be ensuring you provide clinical leadership to all members of staff on the unit.


EDUCATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Nursing Degree
NMC Registration


REQUIREMENTS:

To be eligible for the role, you will need to:

• Have extensive experience of working in a surgical ward across multiple specialties with experience at senior level
• Have evidence of further education i.e Post Grad Certificate/Diploma or Continuous Professional Development
• Have excellent communication and leadership skills and a strong ability to work effectively within a team and to motivate a team.
• BLS Training
• Have experience of managing department budgets and auditing.
