RESPONSIBILITIES:

The overall responsibility within the hospital's acute mental health service caring for patients carrying out various assessment and treatments. This service is a 28 bedded purpose built Specialist Care Home for adults who have complex neurological and behavioural needs. You would be part of the dedicated multidisciplinary team who offer evidence based, patient centred care and therapy to help patients maximise their physical, emotional and social potential. You will care for service users with complex neuro-disability, including care of tracheostomy and mechanical ventilated patients.

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Deputy Ward Manager your role will include supervision and management of care staff. Planning, assessing, delivering and evaluating individual care to all patients. Establish and maintain outstanding communication with clients, relatives and colleagues. Deputise in the absence of the Ward Manager while demonstrating consistent leadership and role modelling. You will also be in charge of completing staff rotas.

EDUCATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Nursing Degree

REQUIREMENTS:

To be eligible for the role, you will need to:

• Registered Nurse (RMN/RNLD) with a Valid NMC PIN
• Must have senior nursing experience working within a care home setting
• Brain Injury experience desirable but not essential as training will be provided
• Must be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team and have sound knowledge of regulatory requirements
