TTM are working in partnership with one of London's prestigious private hospitals, who also work in partnership with the NHS. They work to provide world class treatment to patients across a range of Medical and Surgical specialties both inpatients and outpatient. Located in a beautiful, leafy district of London they work to provide the best in private healthcare & NHS services and facilities.
TTM are currently looking to recruit a Ward Manager to work on the surgical ward of the hospital. The ward predominately covers orthopaedics however some other surgical specialties are also cared for on the ward.
Working as the Ward Manager your role will involve overseeing the running of ward on a day to day basis while also offering support to managers of other departments. As senior management you will be continuously evaluating the service and taking necessary steps for improvement. You will assist in planning the delivering of individualised, safe and effective, evidence based patient care whilst ensuring a welcoming, caring and safe environment for patients. Your day to day will involve carrying out assessments on patients, making critical judgements and recommendations and having the ability to effectively communicate complex information to patients on managing their condition. Your role will also involve all aspects of recruitment, working to ensure effective utilisation of staff so that high standards of care are maintained at all times. You will play a key role in the financial budget and ensuring the operational and strategic practice of the ward is communicated effectively throughout the hospital. Developing, planning and implementing new strategies to improve the service will also be a key part of your role, along with being responsible for standards across the ward.
To be considered for this role you will have a strong nursing background within a surgical setting and experience at management level. A post grad qualification in management or specific speciality is desirable but not essential As this is a management role a good understanding of clinical governance and risk management is expected along with knowledge of Auditing, Benchmarking, CQC Framework and KLOE. You will demonstrate a high level of leadership skills along with advanced interpersonal and communication skills. You will be self-confident along with the ability to work and manage a team.
