They have an available opportunity for a Registered Nurse to work on the haematology day unit of the hospital with excellent experience, skills and knowledge. RESPONSIBILITIES:

The overall responsibility within the hospital's haematology day unit. As a haematology nurse you will be responsible for direct as well as indirect patient care ensuring oncology patients are cared for in a safe, caring and comfortable environment.

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working as an haematology nurse you will be responsible for planning and delivering appropriate care for patients on the unit, considering their individual care needs and developing care plans to implement, evaluate and monitor daily. You will have the ability to recognise deterioration in patients and act accordingly, alerting senior members of staff and the medical team. Part of your role will involve the administration of chemotherapy/Cytotoxic drugs and keeping up to date with current practices. You will comply and promote infection control standards while maintaining a safe environment for patients under your care will be part of your daily responsibilities along with any other ad hoc duties required by senior members of staff.

EDUCATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Nursing Degree
  • NMC Registration

REQUIREMENTS:

To be eligible for the role, you will need to:

• Have at least 6 months post-graduation experience and a valid NMC registration
• Have experience of working in a haematology however candidates with a keen interest in developing into this field will be considered
• Be a caring and compassionate nurse with strong attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure.
• Have excellent communication skills and be a good team player.
