RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your overall responsibility in the critical care department working at a Senior Staff Nurse level, you will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate high standards of nursing care, ensuring the highest level and standards of care are provided to patients at all times.

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting into the Sister in Charge or Ward manager will be responsible for planning and delivering appropriate care for admissions and discharges to the unit. You will work to ensure that the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of each patient is in line with evidence-based practices. You will have an innate ability to quickly identify any issues or concerns and act accordingly. Working as part of the team you will be competent across Venepuncture, Cannulation and Phlebotomy, carrying out these tasks on a daily basis while maintaining a safe environment for patients under your care. Part of your role as a senior member of staff will involve mentoring junior members of staff delegating and supervising patient care in a fair manner.

EDUCATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

NMC Registration


THE REQUIREMENTS:

To be eligible for the role, you will need to:

• Have extensive IUC experience at least 2.5 years+
• Experience of working with Level 3 patients
• Be competent in IV, Phlebotomy and Cannulation along with experience in management of TPN, stoma's and VAC's dressings.
• Have the ability work as part of a team and therefore be expected to be a good team leader and lead by example.
• Have excellent attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure along with good communication and computer skills.
