CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting into the Theatre manager you will be responsible for planning and delivering appropriate care to patients on the ward. You will work to ensure that policies and procedures relating to the administration of blood and blood products are followed. Part of your day to day will involve maintaining a sterile environment within the theatre at all time and ensuring efficient supervision of staff. Working with the team you will ensure that patients comfort. Dignity and privacy are maintained at all times. As a senior member of the team you will have the ability to take the lead in an emergency situation and be responsible for ensure that any incidents/accidents are appropriately recorded and reported in a timely manner.

EDUCATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Nursing Degree
NMC Registration
Anaesthetic Qualification or extensive UK experience working in anaesthetics


THE REQUIREMENTS:

To be eligible for the role, you will:

• Have a relevant anaesthetic nurse qualification( or extensive UK based experience in anaesthetics) or operating department practitioner/ODP qualification.
• Experience of working in orthopaedics, colorectal and heptabillary would be desirable
• As a senior member of the team you will have experience of mentoring staff and ideally be ALS trained.
• Have an innate attention to detail with a strong ability to work well under pressure.
• Adapt easily to situations and be a good communicator within a team. Computer competency would also be a vital part of the role.
