They have an available opportunity for an ODP to join their Endoscopy theatre team in one of their hospital's based in Oxford. If you think the position is right for you, let's talk.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The overall responsibility within this role is to assist physicians performing endoscopies. The duties of the endoscopy nurse include preparing sedation, monitoring the patient during the procedure, and providing after-care and instructions.

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working alongside the Theatre Manager as a ODP you will be responsible for assessing, planning and implementing the right standards of care to all patients who are undergoing surgical procedures. Your day to day will involve preparing the equipment and instruments according to the needs of the patient and the surgeon's specifications, updating the surgeon's preference cards, ensuring all equipment is checked prior to use, reporting any faults immediately and working as part of a cohesive team while assisting during the surgery. As a ODP you may also be assigned other ad hoc duties as required by senior members of staff.

REQUIREMENTS:

To be eligible for the role, you will need to:

• Have a valid HCPC registration
• 1 Year experience of working as an ODP with endoscopy experience
• Be a caring and compassionate nurse with strong attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure.
• Have excellent communication skills and be a good team player.
