Maternity Nurses Required for Immediate start Preston
THE OPPORTUNITY:
TTM are currently recruiting Maternity & Delivery Nurses to work in our wards at Preston Hospital Based in Lancashire. Applications are welcomed from registered nurses who ideally live in or around the Lancashire area, or those that may wish to relocate. Applicants must be registered with NMC and have experience working in an acute hospital.
THE BACKGROUND:
At TTM Healthcare we are proud to have partnered with a large number of NHS Trust's supporting them in the supply of nurses within their hospitals. I am currently seeking Band 5 Nurses for full and part time locum Maternity & Delivery Nurses. I am specifically interested in Nurses who have availability to cover long days or nights and can offer at least 3 or 4 shifts a week.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Monitor and examine women during pregnancy
•Develop, assess and evaluate individual programmes of care
•Provide full antenatal care, including screening tests in the hospital, community and the home
•Identify high risk pregnancies and make referrals to doctors and other medical specialists
•Arrange and provide parenting and health education
•Provide counselling and advice before and after screening and tests
•Offer support and advice following events such as miscarriage, termination, stillbirth, neonatal abnormality and neonatal death
•Supervise and assist mothers in labour, monitoring the condition of the foetus and applying knowledge of drugs and pain management
•Give support and advice on the daily care of the baby, including breastfeeding, bathing and making up feeds
•Liaise with agencies and other health and social care professionals to ensure continuity of care
EDUCATION:
Nursing certificate in Midwifery and registration with the NMC with a valid UK PIN number
THE REQUIREMENTS:
To be eligible for this role, you will need to:
•Be a registered Midwife with ideally 1 or more years' experience
•Ability to cover shift patterns of either earlies or lates
•Registered with the NMC
•Ideally have worked within an acute hospital environment
•Have very good communication skills and work well in a team
