This hospital is a large acute facility providing a range of complex services for patients, specialising cardiac services, neurosurgery, liver and HPB medicine, rehabilitation, gynaecology, orthopaedics, and many more. They have an available opportunity for a Intensive Care Nurse to work in the ICU Unit and of the hospital with excellent experience, skills and knowledge. RESPONSIBILITIES:

The overall responsibility within this role is to care for critical patients from Level 1-3.

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting into the senior staff nurses and the ward manager will be responsible for planning and delivering appropriate care for admissions and discharges to the unit. You will work to ensure that the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of each patient is in line with evidence based practices. You will have an innate ability to quickly identify any issues or concerns and act accordingly. Working as part of the team you will be competent across Venepuncture, Cannulation and Phlebotomy, carrying out these tasks on a daily basis while maintaining a safe environment for patients under your care. You will also be assigned other ad hoc duties as required by senior members of staff.

EDUCATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Nursing Degree
NMC Registration

REQUIREMENTS:

To be eligible for the role, you will need to:

• 1-year post grad experience working in an ICU department or acute high dependency unit
• Experience with IV, Phlebotomy and Cannulation, as well as experience of dealing with complex care patients, Level 2 & 3
• Be a caring and compassionate nurse with strong attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure.
• A good team player with excellent communication skills both written and verbal
